The Northern Virginia Chapter (NVC) of the
Archeological Society of Virginia (ASV) is a proud member of the
statewide organization. We also support
- The study of prehistoric and historic archeology throughout the state
- Scientific study of archeological sites and associated materials
- The promotion of archeological knowledge when and where possible
- Ethical treatment of sites and artifacts
- Collaboration with sister organizations with similar goals and ethics
- Encouraging the growth of members' knowledge through the ASV’s Certification Program
The NVC also strives to act as a link with its members to opportunities throughout Virginia and
beyond, to expand their knowledge of and skills in archeological research, excavations, and
conservation.
